After a ten year hiatus, I decided to reacquaint myself with oil painting. I'm inspired by the dune shacks that dot Provincetown's seashore. They are beautiful, diverse structures each with their own unique history. The fact that so many of them are still standing after all these years is endlessly fascinating to me, and it doesn't hurt that their location on the national seashore is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the United States.

Painting with Robert Cardinal

Last week I had a wonderful opportunity to spend three days painting with the renowned artist, Robert Cardinal at his studio in Truro, MA on Cape Cod.  During my time on the cape I created this 11" x 14" oil landscape of a house in Wellfleet, MA.  I'm very happy with this piece and look forward to doing more oil painting alongside my work in watercolors.

All Together Now

This is the culmination of my apple-a-day project. I set out to paint a watercolor of a different apple variety every day for thirty days. The original intention of the project was to endeavor a way to make each day I spend in my art studio fruitful in some way. It became an antidote to my artist's block, but much more than that.
